Virginia Living Museum

Take a safari around the native wildlife of Virginia! The Virginia Living Museum is a unique combination of zoological park, botanical garden, aquarium, aviary, planetarium, observatory, natural science museum and nature store - all in one beautiful setting in the woods on Deer Park Lake. The Virginia Living Museum is unique in the mid-Atlantic region in its use of living exhibits to stimulate understanding and appreciation of the living world and our relationship to it.

During the school year we recommend visiting in the afternoon after the school groups have departed for the day. The Wild Side Café offers hot and cold breakfast, lunch and snack items. Picnic areas are also available for boxed lunches.

Due to seating constraints, the package does not include the Planetarium. Private planetarium programs can be booked separately through the VLM at a cost of $3 per person (minimum $175). Total seats 71.

Length of tour: 2-3 hours. Planetarium show 45 minutes (booked separately with VLM).
