Capital Campaign

The Virginia Living Museum recently completed an amazing $22.6 million expansion that more thanVirginia Living Museum building 2004 tripled its exhibit area. Our new 62,000 square-foot exhibition building opened in March 2004. Transformation of the former museum building into the Wason Education Center was completed in November 2005.

Donations are still being taken for commemorative pilings and pavers.

The Virginia Living Museum is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Internal Revenue Service designation.  All donations to the capital campaign are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law

Pavers & Pilings

You can help support the museum through the purchase of a commemorative plaque (PDF) on a piling along the 3/4 mile boardwalk ($1,000), or a personalized paver (PDF) along the museum's entrance walkway ($150).

Naming Opportunities

To honor those making capital donations in specified amounts, the Virginia Living Museum allows donors to name selected space in the Museum buildings or on the outdoor site. Dollar amounts represent commemorative values, not actual construction, renovation or exhibit costs. The spaces may be named for the donor or the donor may choose to honor or memorialize others. A limited number of naming opportunities remain from the 2004 expansion.
