Family Safaris
Travel with Virginia Living Museum naturalists to discover the enchantment and beauty of our natural world. Our safaris offer you and your family an excellent opportunity to visit places you may not see on your own—even to sites not ordinarily open to the public.
Adult Classes
Adults enjoy hands-on opportunities to learn about the natural world of Virginia, astronomy, how to observe the sky and more.
Elder Adventures
Groups of 10 to 25 can discover the regions of Virginia in a fun fact-filled way.
Explore the fascinating regions and habitats of Virginia. Meet live native wildlife.Taste some of our favorite regional foods. Enjoy learning in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Each program begins with a delicious themed lunch that showcases products from Virginia’s regions.
Homeschool Day
At least once a year, the Museum offers homeschool families a day-long schedule of natural and space science programs. The next Homeschool Day will be March 3, 2010. Registration is now open.
Have VLM Visit You
Mother Nature's Traveling Road Show is an outreach program designed to serve you where you are with exciting and educational programs throughout the summer. All programs last 30 minutes and use live animals. Mother's Nature Road Show for Seniors is a year-round program that provides intellectually challenging programs to senior centers and assisted living facilities. Discovery boxes are "museum-in-a-trunk" traveling curriculum modules.
Plan an Event
The Virginia Living Museum is the perfect choice for receptions, corporate parties, banquets and celebrations of all kinds for up to 500 people. You can start your event on the outdoor deck overlooking Deer Park Lake and dance the night away on two levels inside. You could even have a cocktail party on the rooftop patio and look at the stars through the telescope. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres around the spiral staircase or a sit-down meal for 200. Whatever you need, we will be happy to host your event.
