June 5 Dinner with Venus: a twice in a lifetime event
Join
the Virginia Living Museum at the Abbitt Observatory and Planetarium
for an amazing observing opportunity. On rare occasions, the Earth,
Venus and the Sun align such that the planet Venus can be seen directly
in front of the brilliant solar surface. On June 5, this rare event will
be briefly visible for the final time in our lifetimes…the next transit
of Venus will occur in 105 years. Come see this stunning event live as
our staff astronomers interpret this incredible event for you. Cost
includes dinner, a planetarium show, safe solar viewing glasses and
more.
Time: 5:30-9pm.
