Walk with the Keeper
at the Virginia Living Museum

A unique experience awaits you as you Walk with the Keeper....See what
happens before the museum opens! Wake up the animals,
experience their morning feedings and help ready the animals for a wild
day at the Virginia Living Museum!
Guided by the animal
keeper, journey to areas of the museum where visitors are not allowed.
Your tour will bring you to the following stops:
- Animal holding area
- Animal food prep facility
- Viewing of morning feedings for following animals: (pending availability) otter, birds in coastal aviary, bobcat, red wolves, turkey and deer
- Experience morning animal release from safe houses
- Witness otter, coastal aviary, turkey, bobcat or wolf enrichment activities (pending availability)
Join a small group of visitors (no more than 10) for a truly unique
experience as you walk with the keeper along the
outdoor trail when the museum is closed to the general public. Our
tour begins promptly at 8:15am so arrive by 8am. Wait at front glass doors for the Keeper to arrive.
Note: Wear comfortable shoes~ dress for weather. Be prepared for extended walking.
Have your individual questions answered by the keeper in a behind-the-scenes tour catered to your interests.
Tours last 45 minutes. Advanced tickets must be purchased.
Cost: $10 VLM members, $12 non-members (in addition to museum admission).
