Virginia Living Museum Thanks its Volunteers


Volunteer Recognition 2008Volunteers at the Virginia Living Museum were thanked for their many hours of service to the museum and its visitors with a dinner and recognition ceremony at the Museum in October 2008.


A total of 42 volunteers were recognized for reaching service milestones of 500 hours and above. Among those recognized for hours of service were:


  • 11,000 hours, Tede Johnson of Newport News
  • 8,000 hours, Naida Nelson of Newport News
  • 5,000 hours, Ursula Mecking of Newport News
  • 4,000 hours, Kim Becker of Seaford, Christine Dimock of Newport News, Joe Domday of Newport News
  • 3,500 hours, Virginia Gall of Newport News, Art Whittaker of Hampton
  • 3,000 hours, Claire Hubbard of Newport News, Jan Weinert of Hampton, Elaine Whittaker of Hampton
  • 2,500 hours, Jim Buckingham of Poquoson, Mike McDonald of Williamsburg
  • 2,000 hours, Patty Riddick of York County, Jack Slack of Newport News, Juanita Slack of Newport News
  • 1,500 hours, Sue Gray Al-Salam of Newport News, Joan Baumler of Newport News, Barbara Boyer of Wiliamsburg, Gloria Moore of Newport News
  • 1,000 hours, Karen Berger of Newport News, Christopher Fisher of Newport News, Susan Fuchs of Williamsburg, Caye Gerald of York County.
