Assembly Program for Middle School Tour Groups
Natural science program at the Virginia Living Museum
This customized educational package for a large middle school tour group includes an assembly style natural science program and a self guided visit to all exhibits.
Length of Program: 45 minutes
FEE: $12.00 per student, $16.00 per extra adult. (Teacher and one adult chaperone for every 10 students admitted free.)
Small group minimum fee: $360 per program, maximum 50 students
Large group minimum fee: $1,500 for 2 consecutive programs with up to 90 students per program
Survival – It’s Wild!
For animals in the wild survival is a daily challenge. Discover the physical and behavioral adaptations that make it possible for a variety of wild animals to survive environmental extremes, locate food and shelter, find mates and avoid determined predators. This program combines live animals, real specimens from the Museum’s collections and audience participation in a high-interest large group format that will help your students better understand the flow of energy in food webs, predator-prey relationships and the importance of preserving diverse habitats.
