Cost: $4 plus museum admission, $2 members (without voucher)

 Showing: May 26 - Sept. 3, 2012, 12:30pm daily

Night of the TitanicWhat happened on April 14, 1912? Why did a ship, designed to be virtually impossible to sink, founder after a collision with an iceberg? What happened to the Titanic? Explore the events of that fateful evening 100 years ago in this fulldome show.

This multi-media planetarium program that combines "fully immersive" computer animation with the latest scientific research, allows viewers to experience what it was like to stand on the deck of the doomed ocean liner Titanic the night she sank. "Night of the Titanic" shows the unique conditions in Earth and space that -- coupled with human errors -- contributed to the sinking of the ship on April 15, 1912. Learn about: ocean currents, iceberg formation and drift, global warming.

Recommended: ages 10 and above.
