Conway H. Sheild, III, a partner in Jones, Blechman, Woltz & Kelly, has been elected president of the Virginia Living Museum Board of Trustees following the annual meeting June 11.
Charles W. Wornom, president, Abbitt Realty Company, was elected president-elect, and Dean Canavos, co-president/treasurer, Canavos Properties, Inc., was elected secretary. Dr. Dawn T. Hunt, DMD, Hunt Smile Design, was re-elected as treasurer.
Re-elected as trustees during the museum’s annual meeting were: Bill Ermatinger, vice president, Human Resources and Administration, Northrop Grumman Newport News, Dr. Dawn T. Hunt, DMD, Hunt Smile Design, Mark Short, partner, Kaufman & Canoles, P.C.
Elected as chair of the museum’s Board of Advisors was Mary Sherwood Holt.
Re-elected to the Board of Advisors were Lois Bowman, George Goodson, Mary Sherwood Holt, Allen Jones, Jeff Mendelsohn, Mike Petters and Harry Wason.
An attorney with 35 years of experience in business and commercial law, Sheild has also been active on museum, bank, hospital, municipal and professional boards. He joined the VLM board in 2001.
The Virginia Living Museum is a private non-profit 501(c) 3 museum and education center whose mission is connecting people to nature through educational experiences that promote conservation.
