Adopt a Wild Thing in SchoolAdopt a Wild Thing - School Fundraising Initiative May 1-7, 2011

The 2011 Virginia Living Museum 'adoption' program for school children enabled 54 VLM animals to be adopted by classrooms across Hampton Roads.  The funds raised support the care, feeding and special habitats of these furry, fanged and feathered animals that teach kids about natural habitats and environmental conservation.

Class or club animal 'adoptions' give children the satisfaction of knowing their gift will help the animals they love.  Classes choose one of our program animals that travel and teach in school classrooms or an exhibit animal that teaches from its natural habitat right here at the Museum.
