Adopt a Wild Thing

Adopt a Wild Thing

The VLM has a lot of mouths to feed. More than 1,000 animals live here and their care and feeding costs are over $600,000 a year. Do you love the playful otters, majestic eagles and toothy alligators? These are just some of the animals that you can adopt through the Adopt a Wild Thing program.

As an AWT adopter, you are helping to pay for food, shelter and care for your own special animal friend. AWT adopters receive an official adoption certificate, information about their animal and other unique things. Everyone receives the satisfaction of knowing they are bringing happiness to the VLM animals.

How Do I Pick My Animal?

Choosing a new member of your family can be a lot of fun! Just select the animal(s) you want to adopt for one year and complete the adoption application.

Your adopted animal will live at the Museum under the watchful care of our professional curators and vet tech.
